Get Away from the Cold up North!
Ocala, Florida
January 9th - February 3rd, 2012
In the mild climate of Ocala, FL, we have our yearly 4 week class of Equine Dentistry. We will work on 200+ horses
at local Thoroughbred breeding and racing Stables, and Western and English training facilities, as well as horses
from Equine Rescue Societies. We will even travel to the East Coast and visit farms near the Kennedy Space Center.
This class usually fills up fast, so remember to contact us well in advance.
BRUNSWICK, MARYLAND
April 23rd to May 18th 2012
Students will have the opportunity to learn equine dentistry in the historic setting near Harpers Ferry Historical
Site, Gettysburg National Military Park and the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. Students travel to nearby horse farms
with the instructors and Dr. Hyde to develop their skills by observing and assisting in the performance of equine
dental procedures on 200+ horses. There are many sightseeing opportunities and students often visit the capital,
Washington DC. (Accommodation cost $39.99/night)
GO WEST! - FALL 2012
August 20th - September 14th 2012
The American School of Equine Dentistry is going out West to teach the Introductory Course in Equine Dentistry
near Yellowstone National Park and The Grand Teton National Park on a large working "Dude Ranch". Students
will have the chance to study and work on the ranch's 200+ horses in the great outdoors, far away from civilization
with no modern distractions. The ranch cook will prepare all meals, so the price of US$7,495 will include tuition,
textbooks, meals and accommodation in log cabins at the ranch for the 4 weeks of class. Accommodation in cabins
might include bunk beds and students sharing rooms, but that's all part of ranch life! Horseback riding, hiking,
trout fishing and other outdoor opportunities await the adventurous student. The class will make weekend excursions
to the National Parks and to nearby Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
SOUTH AFRICA ADVENTURE CLASS
October 29th - November 25th , 2012
The ASED returns to South Africa after 8 years for another great learning opportunity. Our students in the 2004
class were from all over the world and they were a wonderful group. They are now well established in their equine
dental careers in various countries.
This class offers a chance to explore the coastal area around Langebaan during the classroom phase. We will be
staying at the Oliphantskop Farm Inn. The class will travel to the Northern Cape to a small mining town, Kathu,
for the hands-on instruction at local horse training and riding centers. We will plan to visit the beach, go fishing,
horseback riding and see historical, ecological and sites of interest in the areas we stay and travel to.
This class will have two extra days of hands-on training added at no additional cost. It promises to be an intense
4-week learning experience. Accommodation and travel cost during the class will be included in the package deal.
Please mention on your registration form your interest in the South Africa class and we can send you more specific
information.
